The Greater Greenville branch of Harvest Hope Food Bank has been serving Greenville and Laurens counties since July 2007. In September 2010, Harvest Hope relocated its Greenville operations from a 5,000 square foot facility on Pelham Road to an 80,000 square foot facility at 2818 White Horse Road (formerly a US Food Service warehouse and the PYA Building). With this expansion, Harvest Hope increases its ability to serve hungry individuals and families in upstate South Carolina.
Working with 81 partnering agencies in the Greater Greenville Area, Harvest Hope distributed 3,601,746 pounds of food and personal care items to 616,348 individuals in fiscal year 2010. In 2011, Harvest Hope plans to open an Emergency Food Pantry onsite at the Greater Greenville Branch with the ability to serve more than 200 hungry families a day.
